CHSAA has updated RPI standings for Class 5A football and the numbers won’t change much through Sunday as only two games are on the Saturday schedule. League champions automatically get into the playoffs with the remaining spots filled up by RPI numbers.
One note to remember involves the Metro 10 conference as only the league champion is guaranteed a spot in the bracket and only two clubs from the conference can qualify. The second team must be selected by the seeding committee as they’re charged with determining the 24th and final qualifier.
We list the top 32 teams as the post-season field has expanded to 24 teams this year. The top eight seeds receive first round byes and those clubs will likely be Valor Christian, Columbine, Cherry Creek, Eaglecrest, Grandview, Pomona, Ralston Valley and ThunderRidge. Fairview as a league champion may also get a nod.
