While the Class 4A volleyball rankings seem very solid with the top six positions remaining unchanged, Castle View and Cherry Creek are the only two teams in the same spot in the 5A polls this week.
Below are the Colorado Preps rankings for Classes 4A and 5A.  Official polls from CHSAA will be released on Monday.

CLASS 4A

#2 Holy Family (11-2)
#3 Niwot (9-1)
#4 Pueblo West (7-1)
#5 Valor Christian (6-3)
#6 Thomas Jefferson (8-3)
#7 Ponderosa (5-5)
#8 Cheyenne Mountain (2-6)

NOTES:  No changes in the top six as those clubs kept rolling along except for matches against one another.  Valor Christian stayed put at number five despite a loss to Lewis Palmer because they also picked up a win over Thomas Jefferson.  Ponderosa and Cheyenne Mountain exchanged slots as the Indians were beaten by 5A Coronado in three.  Palmer Ridge and D’Evelyn are new to the poll this week as they sit a combined 18-1 on the season.  The Bears get test quickly in the rugged Pikes Peak as they open league play against Lewis Palmer on Thursday with Cheyenne Mountain waiting in the following week.  Lewis Palmer, in addition to the win over Valor, also took four-time 3A champion Eaton in three sets.

CLASS 5A

#1 Castle View (10-1)
#2 Fort Collins (7-1)
#3 Mountain Vista (8-2)
#4 Fruita Monument (10-1)
#5 Chaparral (8-3)
#6 Chatfield (9-2)
#7 Rock Canyon (8-3)
#8 Rocky Mountain (10-10

TEAMS TO WATCH:  Highlands Ranch (10-1), Coronado (9-2), Legend (7-5), Lakewood (6-6), Cherokee Trail (7-5), Denver East (5-4), Eaglecrest (7-4)
NOTES:  Castle View remained solid at number one again this week as they moved past Mountain Vista and Legend in league play.  But after the Sabercats, there’s quite a few changes as teams continue to move around in the rankings due to head-to-head matchups.  Fort Collins jumped from fifth to second as they picked up a win over Rocky Mountain last week.  Rocky Mountain also scored a nice win over Fossil Ridge causing the defending champs to drop all the way to ninth.  Mountain Vista lost just one spot due to the loss to Castle View and Fruita Monument bumped up two positions as they stretched their winning streak to eight matches.  Chaparral and Chatfield are two other teams moving up this week and Rock Canyon slid four spots with a loss to Legend.
