Otis and Kit Carson have exchanged positions at the top of the latest RPI standings for Class 1A volleyball.  The Bulldogs now lead the Wildcats by .018 in standings updated this morning.  Otis used a big win over previously unbeaten 2A Wiggins in the Akron Tournament to make the move and were helped by Kit Carson’s loss to Yuma on Saturday.
The biggest drop belongs to La Veta as the Redskins went through the week without a loss but still fell eight spots from fourth last week to 12th this week.  The Redskins have just one five-set loss to defending state champion Kit Carson on their resume plus they have a three-game sweep of 2A power Swink.
Springfield also moved up three spots from seventh to fourth this week.  The Longhorns are 7-2 on the season.  Weldon Valley also jumped from 10th to 6th this week following a crucial league win over Briggsdale.
District tournaments will still determine regional tournament bids in Class 1A.  The eight regional tournament winners all advance to the state tournament with four wildcats selected based on the final RPI standings.
