The lone confrontation between ranked volleyball teams tonight is found in Class 2A where #4 Fowler has an important league date with #9 Rye.  The Grizzlies are tied with Rocky Ford and Swink atop the Santa Fe conference with the Thunderbolts one game back in fourth place.  Rye also meets Rocky Ford on Saturday so it’s a crucial three-day stretch for them.

The Otis-Haxtun match could be a preview of a district semifinal or championship contest as both will battle for the District 6 crown.  In Class 2A, Denver Christian and Union Colony Prep look to stay unbeaten in the Mile High.  They’re tied with Dawson in first.

In Class 4A, the battle between Palmer Ridge and Cheyenne Mountain will impact the top four spots in the rugged Pikes Peak while the winner between Woodland Park – Canon City will likely face Classical Academy for the CS Metro crown later in the season.

In Class 5A, the most attractive pairing involves city rivals Fairview and Boulder.
