Basketball clubs continue to gear up for the fast approaching 2019-20 season and Colorado Preps continues the rundown of top players and teams from each conference.  Next up are the teams inside the 2A/1A Lower Platte.
Three teams from the combined 2A/1A conference made deep post-season runs in 2019.  Leading the list is Yuma as the Indians captured a second consecutive state championship in Class 2A.  They moved past Denver Christian (47-38), Fowler (56-47) and Highland (52-39) in Loveland to win the top trophy last March.  League rivals Merino and Haxtun also reached the state semifinals in Class 1A.  The Rams were bounced in overtime by Sangre De Cristo (62-53) and Haxtun fell short to DeBeque (70-55).  Haxtun then nipped Merino 48-46 to win the third place trophy.
We list the top three returnees for each club in several categories.  Numbers are based on stats posted to MaxPreps during the 2018-19 season.
