1A GIRLS HIGH PLAINS

The start of the 2019-20 basketball season is set for later this month and Colorado Preps continues to preview each team across the state.  We focus this week on Class 1A girls with a rundown of the 1A High Plains league.

Kit Carson has dominated the conference as they’ve won the last five league championships.  The Wildcats are also the three-time defending state champions and another crown this year makes them the fourth team to win four straight crowns.  The state record is five; held by Broomfield from 2007-11.  Kit Carson is also just two wins away from setting the all-time mark for consecutive wins.  They enter the season with 77 straight wins and will open with Limon on December 12th and then tangle with Wiley on December 13th.  League rival McClave has the current mark of 78 consecutive wins; put together from 2006-09.

We list the top three returnees for each club in several categories.  Numbers are based on stats posted to MaxPreps during the 2018-19 season.
