1A GIRLS NORTH CENTRAL

The start of the 2019-20 basketball season is set for later this month and Colorado Preps continues to preview each team across the state.  We focus this week on Class 1A girls with a rundown of the 1A North Central league.

It was a great 2018-19 season for the North Central as two teams reached the state tournament and finished in the top four.  Briggsdale and Fleming shared the league championship and both advanced to the final tournament where both picked up first round wins.  Briggsdale was the 4th seed and moved past DeBeque before falling to eventual champion Kit Carson in the semifinals.  Fleming was the 6th seed in the bracket and knocked off Sangre De Cristo 56-49 in round one.  They then fell to Haxtun in the semifinals (48-32).  The Wildcats and Falcons then finished the season against one another with Briggsdale earning the third-place trophy with a 48-32 win.  Both should be in the mix for a return to the state tournament this year.

We list the top three returnees for each club in several categories.  Numbers are based on stats posted to MaxPreps during the 2018-19 season.
