While the state’s six other classifications of prep football are busy preparing for the opening round of the state playoffs, in Class 3A there is still some unfinished business that needs handling.
The final week of the regular season has arrived in 3A, with one last push to reach the postseason looming. A number of league champions have already been decided, but the final seeding and bracket won’t be announced until Sunday.
There is still at least one league that has yet to be decided. No. 8 Frederick – which cracked the top-10 rankings thanks to a thrilling come-from-behind 35-34 victory over Mead last Friday – and George Washington are both 4-0 in League 6. The Golden Eagles visit the Patriots on Thursday.
Discovery Canyon, Pueblo East and Pueblo County are each 3-1 in League 2 after East fell to the Thunder 16-13 last Thursday. The Eagles take on County on Thursday night.
Harrison wrapped up League 1 with a victory over Pueblo Central last Thursday.
