It’s shaping up to be a different year in Class 3A volleyball as several new teams could be hosting regional tournaments this week. Based on RPI numbers issued on October 25th, teams such as Bayfield, Skyview Academy and Eagle Ridge Academy are closing in on a top 12 finish. Clubs that get into the top 12 at the end of the regular season serve as host for a three-team regional tournament.
We project the regional pairings below and seeds are based exclusively on RPI. Once placed in the bracket by RPI, teams can be moved to avoid teams from the same conference being placed in the same regional. Clubs can also be moved for travel and geography considerations. For our pairings, we true seed the bracket but also note which teams could be moved.
One interesting pairing is Region 12 where Patriot league rivals University, Platte Valley and Valley are all together. All three teams are regular visitors to the state tournament but at least one would be moved by the committee to avoid three clubs from the same conference facing off.
