Since we’re nearing the end of the 5A volleyball regular season, we can start to get a very good look at how the regional tournament brackets will shape up.  The top 12 teams in RPI standings at the end of the season will be the host sites but the top 36 clubs overall will get into the bracket.  The projected bracket we present here is based on RPI standings from October 25th (before games were played).
RPI is used exclusively to place teams in the bracket but teams will be moved to avoid two or three teams from the same conference being placed into the bracket.  Travel is a consideration in other brackets but since most of the school are along the I-25 corridor, that plays little if any role in the big school ranks.
For the 36th spot, we list both Brighton and Denver East.  East is 41st in RPI but we believe the Angels get into the bracket as the DLP champions as they beat Thomas Jefferson in the crossover tournament earlier this week.
For our pairings, we true seed the bracket but also note which teams could be moved.
