With just three days remaining in the regular season, the Class 5A volleyball regional tournament brackets continue to take shape. The top 12 teams in the RPI at seasons’ end will serve as host for the three team events set for next week. We use RPI numbers from October 31st to determine the bracket.
One note on the bracket this year involves Denver East. The Angels are outside the top 36 in RPI but we believe they get in as a regional qualifier since they won the DPL championship. If that’s the case, then the Angels would bump the #36 team in RPI; which in this case is ThunderRidge. With that change, we then true seed the bracket 1-36 and then list conflicts where teams could be moved to avoid two clubs from the same conference being placed together.
These are projections only. Official RPI standings will be released on Sunday with the brackets released that afternoon or early Monday.
