It wasn’t just Oliver Horton’s 3,200-meter winning time of 8 minutes, 56.10 seconds at the Niwot Invite that raised eyebrows. The Coronado junior nearly broke the state record, but probably more surprising was that four runners in that race alone went sub-9 minutes. Only two runners in state history had hit that mark before that.
