A quick list of boys basketball games involving top 10 teams and contests important to league championship races.  Colorado Preps will update with scores throughout the night and then run through the impact on conference standings and the playoff race.

CLASS 1A

FINAL:  Sierra Grande beat Hoehne 47-30

GAME NOTES:  Sierra Grande opened the night 28th in the 1A combined rankings so the Panthers may need to win out to sneak into the postseason bracket.

CLASS 3A

FINAL:  #1 St Mary’s beat La Junta 88-51

FINAL:  #4 Manitou Springs beat Woodland Park 76-45

FINAL:  #5 Manual beat DSST-Conservatory Green 72-26

GAME NOTES:  St Mary’s and Manitou Springs keep right on rolling in the Tri Peaks.  Both remained unbeaten in conference play with dominating wins on Wednesday night.  The leaders were scheduled to collide last week but a quarantine in the St Mary’s camp pushed the battle back to this Saturday.  The Pirates host the league title game with the results also impacting the top four to five seeds in the state tournament bracket.

CLASS 4A

FINAL:  #5 Mead beat Riverdale Ridge 72-45

FINAL:  #6 Lewis Palmer beat Fountain Fort Carson 71-59

FINAL:  #8 Evergreen beat Green Mountain 41-39

FINAL:  #10 Golden beat Littleton 52-38

GAME NOTES:  Of the four games involving ranked teams in the division, only the Lewis Palmer matchup with Fountain Fort Carson was a league contest.  The result though created a mess in the Pikes Peak as now Lewis Palmer, Rampart, Doherty and FFC all have two league losses and share the lead.  Fountain Fort Carson closes at Pine Creek on Friday and Lewis Palmer entertains Air Academy that same night.  Rampart has finished their schedule and Doherty remained part of the first place logjam with an 80-62 victory over Liberty to close their regular season.

CLASS 5A

FINAL:  #2 Regis beat #7 Mountain Vista 62-55

FINAL:  #3 Rangeview beat Gateway 92-45

FINAL:  #4 ThunderRidge beat Heritage 59-47

FINAL:  Douglas County beat #5 Chaparral 60-52

FINAL:  Fossil Ridge beat #10 Fairview 75-72

GAME NOTES:  Fossil Ridge moved to 8-1 in conference and now remains tied with Rocky Mountain (6-1) atop the Front Range.  The Lobos, which have a win over Fossil Ridge, is also in action tonight against Legacy.  Fairview was part of the first place tie but the second league loss drops them to third.  ThunderRidge remains perfect in Continental play but due to an earlier quarantine and little time left in the regular season, the Grizzlies won’t be able to play a full conference schedule.  The win though keeps them tied with Regis in first.  The Raiders stayed perfect in the conference with a hard fought win over another top 10 opponent in Mountain Vista.  Chaparral wasn’t as fortunate as the Wolverines were upset by Douglas County tonight.  Chaparral and Regis face off this Friday in another game that will slot the top three teams.  Rangeview is still perfect overall and rolling past Gateway.  The Raiders are tied with Vista Peak atop the East Metro but won’t get a chance to break that tie since the Bison are in quarantine and have ended their season.  That makes Rangeview’s game with Grandview on Saturday the regular season finale.
