Volleyball rankings from CHSAA have been released for the week and we list the top 10 teams in each class below.  They are based on vote totals from coaches throughout the state.

Somewhat of a surprise can be found in Class 2A where Sedgwick County lost their hold on the top spot despite a five set win over Merino last Friday.  Both teams were ranked number one in their class going in but while Sedgwick County dropped with a win, Merino held frim despite the loss.  Meeker, which shares the Western Slope lead with West Grand regained the top spot in Class 2A.

Lamar also lost their grip of number one in Class 3A.  The Savages are now second and fell one spot despite earning quality league wins over St Mary’s and Manitou Springs.  Resurrection Christian earned nine first place votes to eight for Lamar and is the new number one team.  They were second last week.

Cherry Creek is also a new number one in Class 5A as they finally moved ahead of conference rival Grandview.  First place votes were the difference as the Bruins collected 15 of the 18 votes tallied.

Newcomers include Dove Creek, West Grand, Alamosa, Mead and Denver South.
