RPI will be used to determine which teams make the football playoffs in Classes 1A through 5A but once determined, more information can be used to seed teams in the bracket. One additional criteria involves what we call the composite rankings where a formula has been designed total votes from MaxPreps, RPI, Packard and the CHSAA coaches poll into one set of rankings. It’s not the official formula but we combine those votes below.
UPDATE: We’ve added results from the coaches poll in Classes 5A, 2A and 1A as those were posted earlier this morning. Also note that MaxPreps does not include the loss by Classical Academy to Woodland Park on Saturday in it’s rankings. Other Saturday results are also missing from their rankings but we chose to post them as is..
Teams in our composite rankings receive 10 points for each first place vote in any poll, nine for second, eight for third and so on until we come up with a top 10 in each set of rankings. We list every team that received at least one top 10 vote in any poll.
