RPI standings for eight man, 1A and 2A football went through another update early Sunday morning ahead of the official playoff bracket release later in the day.  These are official RPI standings that CHSAA will use to determine which teams get into the playoffs.  And they will be used to help seed the teams in the bracket.
We list the top 20 in each class and also note league champions that will qualify but did not finish in the top 20.
Automatic qualifiers are listed in bold.
Some quick observations.  In eight man, Elbert’s loss to South Park cost the Bulldogs seven spots in the standings.  They were 10th before the game and fell to 17th with the loss but they still qualify as a league champion.  Dove Creek also climbed back into the bracket as before games on Saturday, they were on the outside looking in.
In Class 1A, Highland exchanged spots with Hotchkiss as the Huskies are now 8th and the Bulldogs 9th.  That could be the difference of hosting the game or playing at home in round one.
In Class 2A, Rifle has moved past Sterling and into the top spot as those two clubs seem to be in a tight battle for the top overall seed.  Classical Academy dropped to 8th with their loss to Woodland Park on Saturday.
