Saturday brings us a light but in many cases important football schedule as a few teams can clinch league titles while others need wins to stay in their respective race.  Below is a quick rundown of what’s at stake.

CLASS 4A

Montrose at Gateway:  Ponderosa picked up a win on Friday so the 3rd ranked Indians need a victory to stay tied with the Mustangs atop the Metro conference.  Montrose and Ponderosa clash next week.

CLASS 3A

Fort Morgan at Thompson Valley:  It’s a key game inside the North Valley.  Erie outscored Roosevelt on Friday and the Tigers improved to 3-0 in league play.  With a win today, Fort Morgan matches the 3-0 start but the Eagles sit just one game back at 1-1 opening the day.

CLASS 2A

Ridgeview Academy at Riverdale Ridge:  With Machebeuf knocking off Englewood on Friday, several teams are now back in contention for the Colorado conference title.  Englewood is 3-1 and Ridgeview Academy can get there with a win today.  Englewood meets Ridgeview Academy in the final week.
Alameda at Kent Denver:  The Sun Devils were also given new life with the Englewood loss as a win today gets them to 3-1 and in the thick of the conference chase.
Manitou Springs at Lamar:  The Savages enter the game ranked 9th and heavily favored.  A win moves them into a second place tie with Elizabeth in the Tri Peaks.  Lamar and Elizabeth play next week.  Neither can catch Classical Academy who clinched the crown with their 7-0 win at La Junta on Friday.
Resurrection Christian at Academy:  The Cougars wrap up another Patriot West title with a win in this one.  Academy is on the bubble for a playoff berth as well.

EIGHT MAN

McClave at Holly:  The winner will be in line for a second place finish behind league champion Fowler in the Ark Valley.  The Wildcats are also battling for one of the last few playoff berths.
Merino at Byers:  The Rams are banged up a bit but they need a road win today to make their regular season finale with Sedgwick County meaningful to the Plains conference title.  They open the afternoon one game of the Cougars in the standings.

SIX MAN

North Park at Briggsdale:  This top 10 matchup will determine third in the North.  Fleming is the league champion with Prairie in second.  Both the Wildcats and Falcons are playoff bound.
Granada at Walsh:  The Bobcats look for a road win to secure third place behind Kit Carson and Cheyenne Wells in a very good Southeast league.
Cotopaxi at Prairie:  Nothing is on the line concerning conference races but both teams are 6-2 and this non-league battle will impact the playoff pairings set for release on Sunday.
