More volleyball across the state on Friday as we will continue to post scores and update how those results impact conference races and playoff positioning.
CLASS 1A
- Wiley clinched the Ark Valley championship by sweeping Springfield 3-0. It’s the second win for the Panthers over the Longhorns this season and they now lead the standings by two games.
- Fleming celebrated senior night by beating Prairie in three. The Wildcats used the win to stay tied with Briggsdale atop the North Central standings.
- Stratton improved to 14-3 on the season with a three-game sweep of Weldon Valley. The Eagles are back at it on Saturday as they tangle with 2A Lotus School and then meet both Burlington and Briggsdale next week.
- Idalia bumps their mark to 14-4 with an easy 3-0 win over Kiowa. The Wolves allowed just 24 points over the three sets. Next up a fun one with Fleming next Friday.
- Sangre De Cristo collects a pair of wins as they down 2A Custer County and league rival Antonito on Friday. Both matches ended in three sets.
CLASS 2A
- Ignacio moves past Norwood in three and they remain tied with Dolores in second place behind Dove Creek in the San Juan. Dove Creek was leading Dolores 2-0 on Thursday when the match was postponed due to a health emergency involving a fan. That person is okay and the match will be replayed at a later date.
- Holyoke takes over third place in the Lower Platte league as they outlasted Wiggins in five sets. It was the last league game for the Tigers who finished the league schedule at 5-2. Holyoke is 3-2 with games remaining against Sedgwick County and Yuma but they have the tiebreaker over Wiggins due to the win tonight.
- Meeker is 16-0 after beating Olathe in three. It was the third straight loss for for the Pirates. West Grand also stayed tied with Soroco in second place as they downed Rangely in four.
- Dayspring Christian remains alone in second behind Denver Christian in the Mile High. The Eagles took care of Gilpin County in three.
CLASS 3A
- Good non-conference win for Liberty Common as they defeated #2 Sedgwick County (2A) 3-1. The Eagles are 14-3 overall and the win ended a slide where they had lost three of their last four.
