Some news and notes concerning results around Colorado High School volleyball on Friday night.  Several important matches are on the schedule.  Check back throughout the night as we’ll update as scores are turned in.

 

CLASS 1A

  • Fleming outlasted Briggsdale in five sets and that results leaves the two teams tied for the North Central lead.  It was their second  meeting of the season with Briggsdale taking the first one last month in three.

CLASS 2A

  • Sedgwick County stayed unbeaten in league play and took over sole possession of first place in the 2A/1A Lower Platte by beating Haxtun in four.  Neither team had a loss inside the conference at first serve.  Haxtun remains alone in second as the Bulldogs and Cougars had a two game edge on all other clubs.
  • Wiggins solidifies their hold on third place in the Lower Platte as they down Yuma 3-0.  The Tigers are tied with Merino in third with two losses apiece but they’ve beaten the Rams head-to-head.
  • Meeker scores a nice non-league win over North Fork.  The Cowboys won in three in their first matchup of the new school which combines Paonia and Hotchkiss high schools.
  • Soroco stays one game back of Meeker in the 2A/1A Western Slope chase by taking out Rangely in three.  The Rams opened the night tied with West Grand in second; both have one league loss.
  • Sargent picks up a nice conference win over Sanford – the final 3-0.

CLASS 3A

  • DSST-Montview grabs a second conference win in as many nights and their 3-0 win over KIPP Collegiate keeps them alone atop the Frontier standings.
