Probably the best two matchups on the Saturday girls’ basketball schedule can be found at the top of the list in Class 1A.  Top ranked Briggsdale and #2 Fleming clash in a battle of unbeatens with the winner nabbing the league championship and top district seed.  And should both teams advance that far, the winner could be the top overall seed for the state tournament.

The second game features #5 Merino on the road to #5 Limon from 2A.  Merino has won five straight since a loss to Fleming and that includes back-to-back victories over 2A opponents Dayspring Christian and Akron.  Limon is the defending state champion and has already beaten Simla and Wray on the road this week.

In Class 3A, there’s an important game between #9 Delta and Moffat County.  Those two share the early lead in the Western Slope chase with #7 Grand Valley.  The visiting Bulldogs opened league play by downing then top ten ranked Coal Ridge ten days ago; Delta is 8-2 overall but has not dropped a game to a 3A rival.

Up in Class 5A, Arapahoe needs a win over Cherry Creek to maintain sole possession of first place in a Centennial league that also includes #2 Mullen (4A) and #2 Grandview (5A).  Those two also collide today in another highly important conference battle.

Below is the entire schedule for top 10 teams.  We’ll update scores throughout the night and then below the rankings, update some games that impact league championship races.  Final scores can be sent to Colorado Preps by text to 970.380.7737.
