The Class 5A final is set, with No. 1 Mountain Vista and No. 3 Rock Canyon advancing to Wednesday’s title game.

The other three classification’s championship games have yet to be decided.

On Wednesday at the University of Denver, the Golden Eagles (17-0-1) and Jaguars (14-0-5) remained undefeated, winning their respective semifinal matches. Mountain Vista beat No. 5 Ralston Valley on senior Riley MacDonald’s walk-off goal in the 99th minute. Rock Canyon shut out No. 10 Heritage, getting goals from Gabby Beaudry, Macey Williams and Jocelyn Lyons.

After playing to a scoreless draw April 29, the teams will play the 8 p.m. game at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Wednesday.

Here’s a quick look at the 4A-2A semifinals.

Class 4A

No. 9 Denver North (15-3) vs. No. 12 Lutheran (12-4) at the University of Northern Colorado on Thursday at 5 p.m.

The Vikings have allowed just one goal in three postseason games, beating No. 24 Riverdale Ridge, No. 25 Cheyenne Mountain and No. 17 D’Evelyn in the opening three rounds.

The Lions, meanwhile, back in the title game for a second straight season, delivered a second-round upset over No. 5 Mead before beating No. 13 Green Mountain in the quarterfinals. Senior Brooklyn Bussey has led the way, scoring six of Lutheran’s 10 playoff goals.

No. 2 Northfield (16-0-2) vs. No. 14 Evergreen (12-5-1) at the University of Northern Colorado on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The Nighthawks are back in the title game after winning the 2022 4A title over Windsor. They’re led by four different players with 10 or more goals this spring, including sophomore Olivia Galvan, who scored a hat trick in an opening-round win over No. 31 Gateway.

The Cougars, meanwhile, are looking for their fourth 4A final since 2017 and their first state title since 1997. Sophomore Nadia Leunig leads them with six playoff goals, giving her 15 goals and six assists this season.

Class 3A

No. 1 Colorado Academy (16-0) vs. No. 4 Delta (17-1) at JeffCo NAAC Stadium on Thursday at 5 p.m.

The Mustangs are back in the title game for the first time since 2021, looking for their first title since 2019 and sixth as a program. Celina Frenz leads them with six playoff goals and four assists, giving her 26 and 12 on the year.

The Panthers are led by the state’s leading goal scorer, Jessica Black. The junior has seven postseason goals and three assists, giving her 47 and 14 this spring.

No. 2 Jefferson Academy (16-2) vs. No. 3 Kent Denver (14-3-1) at JeffCo NAAC Stadium on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The defending champs will face a Metro League-foe, the Mustangs, who they beat 1-0 during the regular season.

Senior Gianna Gagliano was a big part of JA’s title run a year ago and leads the Jags with 36 goals this spring and 92 in her career.

Sophomore Hadley Carrington leads Kent Denver with 14 goals.

Class 2A

No. 1 Flatirons Academy (14-1-1) vs. No. 4 Crested Butte (14-2-1) at DPS All-City Stadium on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Both the top-ranked Bison and the Titans got through the opening two rounds without too much drama.

Flatirons Academy beat No. 16 Grand Valley, 8-1, and No. 8 Dawson, 2-0. Crested Butte beat No. 13 Rocky Mountain Lutheran and No. 5 Loveland Classical, a combined 13-0.

Junior Annabelle Rakers has four goals and two assists this postseason for the Bison, while the Titans’ Molly Grace Miller has four and three.

No. 6 Colorado Springs Christian School (12-3-2) vs. No. 7 Buena Vista (13-3) at DPS All-City Stadium Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

The Lions are looking to repeat, back in the title game after winning the 2023 championship over Fountain Valley. They’re led by junior Ella Baker, who has four playoff goals and 28 this spring.

Buena Vista, meanwhile, which hasn’t been to a title game as far as CHSAA’s records that go back to 1978, will look to pull off another upset after beating No. 2 Denver Christian, 4-2, in Round 2.
Sophomore Mae Blazer has led the way for the Demons, with two goals and two assists in these playoffs, and 24 and 15 this spring.
