Five games on the girls basketball Saturday slate pit two ranked teams against one another and two of them feature number one teams. In Class 1A, Briggsdale looks to stay perfect as they host fellow unbeaten and 6th ranked Stratton and up in 5A, #1 Valor Christian meets #3 Grandview in a game very important to the big school state tournament bracket.
Elsewhere, #2 Fleming and #5 Holyoke are coming off solid wins on Friday over Merino and Burlington and both return to the court against ranked opponents today. The Wildcats host another set of Wildcats in #8 Kit Carson while the Dragons hit the road to #7 Yuma. That contest is a non-league game as the two meet in February for the annual Lower Platte showdown.
The fifth such matchup is a big challenge for #4 George Washington (4A) as the Patriots seek a ninth straight win but face #2 Highlands Ranch from Class 5A.
