State Review

The 2018 volleyball season came to a close on Saturday with the crowning of five state champions.  Kit Carson, Yuma, Lutheran, Lewis Palmer and Valor Christian were the state champions as the format moved to double-elimination and the tournament extended from two to three days.  Our latest Colorado PrepsCast looks at the champions and also gives some thoughts on other teams that made strong showings.  Plus we give some opinion on the new format employed by CHSAA.

As always, we encourage and appreciate comments on our Podcasts.  You can send your thoughts to us by email at [email protected] or by using the comment section below this story.

  1. I do not like the new format! Lutheran had a chance to come back after an early loss, but Eaton did not get a second chance! If it is a true double elimination tourney, then Lutheran should have had to beat them twice! Totally unfair! Eaton had a chance to make history, but they were robbed of it!

    • Sour grapes! It was clear that the format was double elimination until Semifinals. Eaton played 2 fewer matches than Lutheran coming through the Contender’s Bracket. Eaton had their run and now it’s over. Deal with it.
