None of the 16 first-round pairings feature conference/district matchups so the bracket is good in that aspect.  According to guidelines, teams seeded 25-32 can be moved for travel/geography but with the exchange of Yuma and Meeker, the travel solves some of it’s own issues. Dolores is headed to Meeker and Center goes to Yuma so we expect those teams to remain in place with the new release.
One concern is sending #9 Wray all the way to #8 Ignacio (493 miles) but we don’t see anything in the seeding guidelines to prevent that trip from happening.  Burlington (24th) is also in that bracket so we can see the committee keeping the Cougars closer to home but they’re one spot away from fitting into the 25-32 window that includes teams being moved.
This bracket is again for projection purposes only as the official set of pairings will be released on Monday by CHSAA.
