A few teams have a chance to lock up conference championships on Saturday and others can stay in position for titles with wins today.  We look through what’s on the line today in boys’ basketball.

CLASS 1A
Sangre De Cristo and Sierra Grande battle for the Southern Peaks lead.  The T-Birds are unbeaten in league play with a one game edge on the Panthers and clinch the title with a win.  Sierra Grande though moves into the top based on tiebreaker with a road upset.
The winner between Walsh and Kim/Branson will earn the Ark Valley title and top district seed.  It’s the final conference game for both and they sit 1-2 in the conference standings.
Ouray needs a win over Ignacio to stay tied with Mancos atop the San Juan division.  The Trojans and Bluejays have one conference loss apiece.  Ignacio though is alone in third (6-2) and still trying to track down Mancos for the top overall seed in the 2A District 3 Tournament.

CLASS 2A
Following a loss to Paonia on Friday, Vail Christian needs a win over North Park to stay alone in second inside the Western Slope standings.  That result also gave the conference championship to 1A DeBeque.  Vail Christian (8-2) leads Plateau Valley and Paonia by one game in the race for second and top district seed.  Paonia plays Rangely today and Plateau Valley meets Hotchkiss.

CLASS 3A
Delta needs a win at Aspen to maintain their perfect run through the Western Slope schedule.  The Panthers lead Gunnison and Roaring Fork by one game in the standings.  Delta has beaten Roaring Fork but Gunnison is coming up on the 14th.  Gunnison is off today while Roaring Fork is favored against Moffat County.
Bayfield, Montezuma Cortez and Alamosa will try to sort out second place in the Intermountain league today.  With results from Friday, all three teams are 5-4 going into their final conference game of the year today.  Alamosa meets Centauri and the Falcons are atop the conference by two games.  They still have a game with Monte Vista next week but Centauri clinches the title with a win today.  Bayfield hosts Pagosa Springs and Montezuma Cortez is at Monte Vista.

CLASS 4A
Glenwood Springs can clinch the Western Slope crown by beating Steamboat Springs.  They lead the Sailors by one game in the league standings thanks to a narrow win in the first matchup.  Should Steamboat get the win, the two will likely end up sharing the top spot.
Conifer can win the Colorado 8 title by beating Weld Central.  The game was postponed from Wednesday.  The Lobos are tied with Alameda for the conference lead but have the tiebreaker based on head-to-head.  The Colorado 8 has their league tournament next week.
Mead needs a win over Roosevelt to keep a one game edge on Holy Family in the Tri Valley.  The clubs meet for a second time next Thursday.

CLASS 5A
Centennial co-leaders Grandview and Smoky Hill are both in action today against Mullen and Overland.  A loss by either could drop them into a second place tie with Eaglecrest who is favored against Arapahoe.
