Only one more week before the chase for the championship begins.
The final week of the boys lacrosse regular season has arrived, with games wrapping up Saturday. Playoff brackets should post Sunday, with Class 4A first-round postseason play starting May 6. The first round in 5A is May 7.
Only two unbeaten teams remain in the state: In 5A, Cherry Creek wrapped up the League 4 crown with a 10-6 triumph over No. 2 Colorado Academy on Tuesday night. The Bruins have a non-league tilt with ninth-ranked Regis Jesuit on Friday.
In 4A, No. 3 Aspen (13-0) swept past then-No. 8 Grand Junction in a pair of games, with the Skiers closing out Thursday at currently eighth-ranked Steamboat Springs.
