A couple of contests postponed from Friday that are rescheduled for today add to the top girls’ basketball games list for Monday night.  One game features two league unbeatens, a second impacts the top five of RPI and a third puts two teams ranked in the top three of their division on the same court.

Ralston Valley at Grandview:  A non-conference game of course but very impactful to the RPI standings as team continue to improve their numbers and post-season position.  Ralston Valley is #2 to start this week; trailing only conference rival Valor Christian atop the standings.  Grandview tops the Centennial standings and is #4 in RPI.  Grandview’s Lauren Betts, a 6-7 sophomore, is a mismatch for any opponent.  She averages 17 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks per game.  She totaled 18 points, 17 boards and four blocks in the key conference win over Cherry Creek.  Ralston’s Sydney Bevington, a 6-1 junior, also averages a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.  She also has two blocks and three steals per game.
Cherry Creek at Mullen:  The Bruins can lock down second place in the Centennial with a second win over Mullen.  The Mustangs are ranked #1 in Class 4A but sit third in the Centennial; one game back of Creek due to a 58-38 loss in their first meeting.  In game one, Cali Clark led Creek with 17 points and she got help from Abby Wrede (15) and Kacee Kyle (14).  Overall the Bruins shot 40 percent from the field compared to just 29 for the Mustangs.  The rebounding battle was even as both teams pulled down 29 but the Mustangs committed 21 turnovers to just nine for the Bruins.  Mullen did not get a player to double figures as four finished with six.
Broomfield at Fairview:  Postponed from Friday, this outcome will play a major role in deciding the Front Range championship.  Both teams are unbeaten in league play and the winner will remain tied with Fossil Ridge atop the standings.  The Sabercats were able to play on Friday and moved to 8-0 with their win over Fort Collins.  In conference play, the teams are very even offensively as Broomfield has scored 418 points to 409 for the Knights.  But the Eagles have been much better defensively allowing just 249 points compared to 334 for Fairview.  Courtney Wristen leads Broomfield in scoring (14.8) and rebounding (9.6).  Izzy Munson (22.9) is the top Fairview scoring threat while Kailey Page (8.4) leads the Knights on the boards.
