Important volleyball matches are on tap Tuesday night across the state and as results are turned in, Colorado Preps will update how results impact league standings and playoff pairings.  Check back with us throughout the night for more updates.

CLASS 1A

  • #3 Haxtun scored another impressive win as they bested #2 Fleming in three sets.  The Bulldogs topped then #1 Merino last week and tonight takes out the number two club.  Both teams have difficult tests in front of them on Friday as Haxtun meets Sedgwick County and Fleming battles Briggsdale.  Both opponents are ranked #1 in their respective class and each match will help determine league champions.
  • Merino swept Yuma 3-0 and likely locked up no worse than a fourth place finish in the Lower Platte.  They’re tied with 2A Wiggins in third but lost to the Tigers last week.
  • Springfield scored a 3-0 sweep of Kim/Branson and with the win stays alone in second behind Wiley in the Ark Valley.  Wiley remained perfect in conference play with a quick 3-0 win over Walsh.
  • Stratton scores a major league win over Limon 3-1.  The victory leaves the Eagles at 2-0 in the Union Pacific and tied with Byers atop the standings.  Limon suffered their first league loss.
  • McClave knocked off Cheyenne Wells 3-1 and that result gives the High Plains league championship to Cheraw.  The Wolverines are one game up on Kit Carson with one conference game remaining and they have a win over the Wildcats.  Cheyenne Wells has yet to play Cheraw but their loss tonight leaves them two games out of first.
