A few important conference matchups are still on the schedule for next week but for the most part, league races finalize this weekend.  Colorado Preps will again track scores throughout the night on Thursday and recap what the results mean to conference standings.
 
CLASS 1A

  • La Veta captures the Southern Peaks championship with a 3-0 sweep of Sangre De Cristo.  Both teams entered the match unbeaten in league play.
  • In what could be a preview of a district tournament match next week, Merino outlasts Fleming 3-2.  Game five went to the Rams 16-14.

CLASS 2A

  • Denver Christian tops Union Colony Prep 3-0 to capture the Mile-High league championship – Lyons secures second place with their 3-1 win over Highland.  The two results leave Union Colony Prep in third with Highland fourth.
  • Limon is the Union Pacific champion after beating Byers 3-2
  • Del Norte moves to 18-1 on the season with a nice 3-0 home win over Class 3A Salida
  • Hoehne continues to play good volleyball down the stretch.  After beating Swink on Tuesday, the Farmers knock off Fowler 3-2 tonight.
  • Holly continues their late season push with a 3-1 win over Crowley County.  The Wildcats have wrapped up second place behind Swink in the Santa Fe East.  Swink swept Rocky Ford 3-0.

CLASS 3A

  • Alamosa finishes off an unbeaten regular season at 23-0 with a 3-0 sweep of Monte Vista.  The Moose now have two weeks off before hosting a regional tournament in the first week of November.
  • Platte Valley sweeps Estes Park 3-0 to clinch the Patriot league championship.  The Broncos lead Eaton by one game in the race with one match to play.  Platte Valley topped Eaton earlier this week.
  • University’s win over Frontier Academy keeps the Bulldogs tied with Sterling in third place in the Patriot.  Bulldogs own the head-to-head tiebreaker over Sterling

    • Bennett beat Sheridan 3-0 / Bennett beat KIPP Collegiate 3-0
    • Academy beat Jefferson 3-0
    • DSST-Stapleton beat Arrupe Jesuit 3-0 / DSST-Stapleton beat Platte Canyon 3-0
    • Lake County beat Jefferson 3-0
    • Middle Park beat Pinnacle 3-0 / Middle Park beat Bruce Randolph 3-0

CLASS 4A

  • Pueblo County moves past Pueblo West 3-1 to finish off regular season sweep of the Cyclones and claim their first league championship since 2010.  West, which saw an end to their 80-match league winning streak ended by the Hornets earlier this season, still finishes second.
  • Niwot earns a share of the Northern conference championship by beating Longmont 3-1.  Longmont won the first meeting so both teams are now 13-1 in league play.
  • Lewis Palmer rolled past Cheyenne Mountain in three sets to finish the Pikes Peak league schedule unbeaten / Palmer Ridge will finish third in the league after beating Vista Ridge 3-0 / Discovery Canyon locks down second place with their 3-1 win over Air Academy.
  • Palisade worked five full sets but won at Glenwood Springs to stay alone atop the Western Slope.  They’ve clinched at least a share of the title and can win it outright by beating Eagle Valley on Saturday.
  • Classical Academy remains in sole possession of the Colorado Springs Metro lead by beating Canon City 3-1.  Woodland Park tops Mitchell 3-0 and with the Canon City loss, the Bobcats are now alone in second one game back of the Titans.  TCA beat Woodland Park 3-2 last week.
  • Weld Central stayed tied with Englewood atop the Colorado 7 with a 3-0 sweep of Alameda.  Englewood picked up a 3-0 win over Arvada.
  • D’Evelyn remains alone in second behind Evergreen in the Jeffco thanks to a 3-0 win over Littleton.
  • Tri Valley Tournament Results
    • Windsor over Berthoud 2-0 / Windsor over Erie 2-0
    • Holy Family beat Frederick 2-1

CLASS 5A

  • Brighton’s win over Aurora Central kept them in a three-way tie with Rangeview and Prairie View atop the East Metro standings
  • Fort Collins sweeps Boulder 3-0 to remain alone in second in the Front Range.  Rocky Mountain took over third place with their 3-0 win at Loveland.  The Indians fall into fourth.
  • Chaparral and Rock Canyon continue to share the lead atop the Continental as both teams picked up wins Thursday.  Chaparral topped ThunderRidge 3-0 and Rock Canyon won at Castle View 3-1.
  • Valor Christian wraps up the Jeffco championship with a win over Ralston Valley.  The Eagles are one of three teams in Colorado unbeaten on the season (Meeker, Alamosa)
  • Rampart moves to 4-1 in league play with a three-game sweep of Doherty.  The Spartans were also one of four teams sharing the league but they fall one game off the pace.
