Conference schedules are hitting full speed and we take a look at some results from Wednesday and how they impact the early league standings.  We’ll update as more results come in.

CLASS 5A

Centennial:  Grandview took over the top spot with dominating win over Smoky Hill — Wolves now 3-0 in league play and Smoky Hill falls to 2-1 — tied with Eaglecrest and Overland?

CLASS 4A

Northern:  Longmont, Centaurus, Mountain View and Niwot all entered the night with the early lead at 1-0.  Centaurus kept a share of the lead and knocked Mountain View from the top spot with their win over the Mountain Lions on Wednesday.  Longmont kept pace with a win over Silver Creek but Niwot lost a game to the leaders with their loss at Thompson Valley.  #4 Greeley Central stayed one game back by beating Northridge just one night after an upset loss at home to Mountain View (45-42).
Pikes Peak:  Top ranked Lewis Palmer moved past Vista Ridge so the Rangers improve to 2-0 in league play and 10-0 on the season.  The loss also knocked Vista Ridge from their share of the top spot.  Air Academy also moved to 2-0 in the conference by downing Sand Creek.  Cheyenne Mountain joined the group at 2-0 with their high scoring win over Discovery Canyon.
Jeffco:  Golden’s two-point win over Standley Lake (55-53) moved the Demons into a first-place tie with Wheat Ridge at 2-0 atop the standings.  Standley Lake suffered their first league loss and now sits one game at 1-1 and tied with D’Evelyn in third place.  D’Evelyn picked up a road win at Green Mountain for their first conference win.

CLASS 3A

Metro:  Very impressive effort by Manual as they rolled past Colorado Academy 99-63 in their league opener.  That victory easily makes the Thunderbolts one of the teams to beat and they were joined by Faith Christian, Kent Denver and Lutheran in the win column on opening night.  Those four teams share the early lead at 1-0.
