A top 10 matchup between #4 Coronado (4A) and #3 Rampart (5A) headlines the Wednesday night schedule.  The match is a non-conference pairing but features two teams currently sitting atop their respective divisions.  Coronado leads the CS Metro South standings with Rampart topping the rugged Pikes Peak division.  Both are also likely to host regional tournaments next week.

Also in Class 4A, #5 Mead needs a win over Longmont to lock down second in the Northern conference.  The Mavericks are coming off a tough loss to Windsor earlier this week that left them alone in second.  Longmont (3-2) is third.

In class 3A, #1 Eaton has already clinched the Patriot championship but their match with #9 Resurrection Christian tonight will help sort out second place.  The Cougars are tied with University and Sterling for second place and will stay there with a win.  A Eaton win though opens the door for Sterling to take second with a win over Valley.  In that scenario, Sterling has the tiebreaker over University based on a head-to-head victory.

#4 Lutheran has already clinched the Metro crown but get pushed by Faith Chrsitian who will most likely end up third in the race.

An important night for Chatfield as they face top 10 opponents Chaparral and Columbine.  The match with Columbine maybe a bit more important as it could decided second place in the 5A Jeffco.  The Chargers and Rebels are tied for the spot with identical 5-1 marks.  Ralston Valley could get tested with Valor Christian but the Mustangs wrapped up the league crown by beating Columbine last night.  Valor Christian (4-2) is fourth.

In Class 2A, the West Slope chase will start sorting out a bit when Vail Christian hosts Soroco.  The Saints begin the match tied with Meeker as league unbeatens with Soroco one game back in third.  Meeker faces Soroco on Friday and Vail Christian Saturday.

Below is the Top 10 schedule for Wednesday.  We preview other contests farther down in the story as several league champions could be crowned tonight.

NOTES:  The first games on the schedule should all determine league championships.  Otis and Idalia square off for the 1A YWKC crown.  The Bulldogs are 15th in our latest combined rankings with Idalia on the bubble at #25.  Flatirons Academy and Belleview Christian are both unbeaten in the 1A 5280 so that winner likely secures a playoff berth.   Belleview Christian is 9th in combined rankings and will be a playoff team.  Flatirons Academy is 20th and could use a league crown to feel safe.  Calhan and Colorado Springs Christian face off for the 2A Black Forest title as neither has dropped a conference game.  Both are on the playoff bubble without winning the title as Calhan is #23 and Colorado Springs School #25 in our latest combined polls.  Vanguard is heavily favored against Banning Lewis tonight but the Coursers must win to stay a game back of Lamar in the Tri Peaks chase.  Vanguard and Lamar meet tomorrow and that match will determine the championship if the Coursers win this evening.  DSST-Byers can wrap up the Confluence title with a win over DSST-Green Valley Ranch tonight.  DSST-Byers beat Addenbrooke Academy earlier this week to take over sole possession of the lead but Green Valley Ranch is just one game back and tied with Addenbrooke in second.  Frederick and Erie is a non-league game but also a very good rivalry that impact the 4A regional pairings.  Frederick is 12th in combined rankings with Erie 21st.  The Pine Creek-Liberty outcome helps determine third in the Pikes Peak with both teams likely in the playoff bracket.  The Lancers are 11th in 5A polling with Pine Creek 18th.  Fossil Ridge clinches the 5A Front Range championship by beating Rocky Mountain.  The Sabercats are 9th in combined rankings and also battling for the right to host a regional tournament.   Denver East opens the night sharing the DPL lead with Thomas Jefferson but Denver South is a game back in third (8-1).  East and TJ play on Saturday as well so the race is far from over.  TJ has a win over South this year.
