Boys Top 10

Four top 10 matchups can be found in boys’ basketball for Saturday including a nice 3A Metro conference game between #3 Kent Denver and #10 Colorado Academy.  The winner takes over fourth place in the rugged conference.

The remaining games involve non-league contests as #7 Kit Carson visits #10 Haxtun in 1A, #6 Byers goes to #7 Denver Christian in 2A and #9 Peyton challenges #4 Vanguard (3A).

For Kit Carson and Haxtun, the game gives both teams a chance to turn around in the right direction.  Kit Carson fell short in a key High Plains league game to Cheraw on Friday while Haxtun has lost their last three.

Byers is coming off a hard-fought overtime loss to Yuma on Friday night and they hit the road again for a key district game with Denver Christian.  Those two teams are battling Limon for the top overall seed.

Peyton scored a huge win over Simla on Friday to take over the top spot in the 2A Black Forest and today they try to slow down a hot Vanguard offense scoring 80 points a contest.
