CONFERENCE SCENARIOS: 1A/2A

Regular season play concludes in the Class 1A and 2A divisions this week and many championships are still on the line.  Heading into week 10, our report goes through all the possible scenarios for each conference in both classifications.
New RPI standings are to be released Sunday morning and we’ll update this story with those numbers and give a breakdown of how many post-season bids each league may receive.
 

CLASS 2A

COLORADO

• Kent Denver (4-0) clinches league championship with a win over Machebeuf
• If Kent Denver wins, then Englewood is second with a win over Ridgeview Academy
• If Machebeuf and Englewood both win; then the two are tied with Kent Denver for the conference crown

FLATIRONS

• The winner between D’Evelyn and Faith Christian (both 4-0) is the league champion and the loser finishes second
• Bennett has clinched third place
• RPI:

INTERMOUNTAIN

• The winner between Salida and Bayfield (both 3-0) is the league champion and the loser finishes second
• Pagosa Springs secures third place with win over Alamosa
• If Alamosa beats Pagosa Springs; the two are tied with Montezuma Cortez for spots 3-5

PATRIOT EAST

• Platte Valley clinches championship by beating Brush
• If that happens; then Sterling is second regardless of how they end up against Weld Central
• Wins by Brush and Sterling create a three-way tie for the title with Platte Valley

PATRIOT WEST

• Resurrection Christian has clinched championship
• Eaton clinches second by beating Berthoud
• Wins by Berthoud and University (over Academy) create three-way tie for second with Eaton

TRI PEAKS

• La Junta has clinched championship
• Elizabeth wraps up second by beating Lamar
• Wins by Lamar and Classical Academy (over Woodland Park) leaves the two teams tied for second with Elizabeth

WESTERN SLOPE

• Aspen wins league championship with win over Basalt
• Rifle wins league championship with win at Moffat County if Basalt also beats Aspen
• Basalt wins league championship with a win if Moffat County also beats Rifle
• Delta can move to third with win over Coal Ridge if Rifle wins and Basalt beats Aspen

CLASS 1A

COLORADO

• Platte Canyon clinches championship with win over Manual
• If that happens; then Clear Creek is second with win over Jefferson
• If Clear Creek and Manual both win; then the two teams will share the crown with Platte Canyon
• If Platte Canyon and Jefferson win; then Platte Canyon is league champion with Manual, Jefferson and Clear Creek all sharing second

NORTH CENTRAL

• Limon clinches championship with win over Holyoke
• If that happens; then Burlington is second regardless of how they end up against Wiggins
• If Burlington and Holyoke both win; the two teams will share the title with Limon
• If Burlington beats Wiggins; then the winner of Wray-Yuma ends up fourth and the loser is fifth but both teams remain in playoff contention

NORTHERN

• Strasburg clinches league title with win over Cornerstone Christian
• If that happens; then Highland is second with a win over Estes Park
• If Cornerstone Christian and Highland both win; then the two share the title with Strasburg
• If Strasburg and Estes Park both win; then Strasburg is the champion with Cornerstone, Estes Park and Highland all sharing second

• Peyton has clinched the league championship
• Crowley County has clinched second
• Winner between Rocky Ford-John Mall is third

• Centauri is the league champion
• Monte Vista has clinched second
• Center claims third with win over Dolores

• Winner between Florence-Colorado Springs Christian is league champion and the loser ends up second
• Buena Vista has concluded league schedule and has clinched third

• Meeker has clinched league title
• Paonia clinches second with win over Cedaredge
• If Paonia wins, then Olathe is third with win over Grand Valley
• If Olathe and Cedaredge both win; then the two share second place with Paonia
