Two top 10 matchups are on the Friday schedule and despite being very early on the slate, both have league championship implications.
In Class 2A, #6 Holyoke and #10 Haxtun square off inside the Lower Platte.   The two local rivals are expected to battle Yuma and Wray for that championship.  It’s the second meeting between the two with Holyoke taking the first matchup.
In Class 3A, #2 St Mary’s heads east to face #4 Lamar in a crucial Tri Peaks encounter.  #3 Colorado Springs Christian and #9 Manitou Springs are also league members so tonight’s winner is not guaranteed to land the championship.
Elsewhere, #5 Sangre De Cristo (1A) goes on the road and up a class to face 2A Rocky Ford.  Both clubs are unbeaten there.  And in the Rampart tournament, Colorado Springs Christian looks to bounce back from the loss to Pueblo West on Thursday.  The Lions tangle with 5A Rampart.  Top ranked Pueblo West (4A) looks for another quality win against Fruita Monument (5A).
