It may not be a Monday night party, but Colorado is ready for some football. The first full week of games in the high school season kicks off on Thursday. All three days of play will feature great matchups that could even have playoff implications down the road.

With so much action spread out through the state, here is a guide of games that can be seen on the NFHS Network, whether fans want to watch while attending a different game or simply check out the action from the comfort of home.

Class 5A

Ralston Valley at Cherry Creek (Fri. 7 p.m.)

Ralston Valley opened the season with a win close win over Mountain Vista in Zero Week and gets an early test against the defending 5A state champion. Quarterback Logan Madden is looking to solidify his status as the best signal caller in the state while Cherry Creek sophomore Brady Vodicka is looking to build on a solid 2022 campaign.

Valor Christian at Regis Jesuit (Sat. 7 p.m.)

It was Regis Jesuit getting the overtime win in Week 1 of 2022. That memory is likely lingering in the Eagles’ minds as they’ll make the trip to face the Raiders to open the season. Valor brings back a solid rushing attack led by Gabe Sawchuk. The Raiders have to fill a hole at quarterback with the departure of Evander Carroll, but they do get leading rusher Albert Medina back for his senior year.

Class 4A

Standley Lake at Monarch (Fri. 7 p.m.)

The Coyotes got their season started with a win over Boulder in Zero Week and look to improve to 2-0 when they take on the Gators. Senior Brody Gray rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns in that win. Standley Lake got the Week 1 win over Monarch a year go and will try to slow the Coyotes momentum early.

Fossil Ridge at Loveland (Fri. 7 p.m.)

Coming off a loss in the 4A state title game, Loveland has some important holes to fill in order to get back to that championship level. Trey Olsen will see an increased role in the offense after rushing for 556 yards and seven touchdowns last year. Chris Tedford takes over as the coach at Fossil Ridge following the team’s 9-3 2022 season. The Sabercats beat Loveland 36-35 to open the season a year ago.

Class 3A

Fort Morgan at Conifer (Fri. 7 p.m.)

After winning the 3A title in 2021, Fort Morgan stumbled out of the gate and had a disappointing title defense season last year. The Mustangs dropped their Week 1 game to Conifer 13-10 and will look to start this season with a little redemption. Sophomore quarterback JJ Marquez should look more polished after gaining valuable experience as a freshman last year. Conifer should also be a bit more polished after 5-5 season. Running back Jackson Kosar averaged 5.7 yards per carry that number could very well increase this year.

**

Durango at Farmington (Sat. 11 a.m.)

Durango rolled to a Week 1 win against Farmington last year and will try to repeat that performance. This is new coach Matt Burton’s debut with the Demons. He’ll go into the season with an experienced roster which includes returning quarterback Tyler Harms.

Class 2A

Delta at University (Fri. 7 p.m.)

This is a big showdown for Week 1 and could set the tone in the 2A landscape. Quarterback Ty Reed is looking to stay healthy for the full season and if he does, the Panthers could be the favorite to win the 2A title. It should be a fun quarterback battle as Coel Croissant also returns to lead the Bulldogs for his senior year.

Watch: Delta at University

**

TCA at Eaton (Sat. 6 p.m.)

Last year, TCA walked off with a stunning win over the Reds. But Eaton had the last laugh as it hoisted its third straight state championship while the Titans fell to Delta in the semifinals. Each team will be hungry for a win here as they’re both in search of new identities in 2023.

Watch: TCA at Eaton.

Class 1A

Limon at Florence (Fri. 7 p.m.)

This is technically a 1A vs. 2A clash, but all eyes will be on the defending 1A champions to start the season. Florence claimed the 2A Tri-Peaks title and a battle with the Badgers is a good test to start a bid at repeating that feat in 2023.

Watch: Limon at Florence

**

Salida at Buena Vista (Fri. 7 p.m.)

There’s nothing like a little rivalry showdown to get the juices going on a Friday night. The Spartans will make the trip as Buena Vista is riding the momentum of a big win over Coal Ridge last week. Buena Vista got the better of Salida last year 26-16.

Watch: Salida at Buena Vista

**

8-man

Hoehne at Simla (Fri. 7 p.m.)

The 8-man runner-up from a year begins its quest to return to the title game with a home class against Hoehne. The Cubs got a big win against the Farmers last year and the Farmers will likely looked for a stronger start to the 2023 season. Simla quarterback Caston Cox threw for 21 touchdowns last year and is primed for a big senior season.

Watch: Hoehne at Simla

**

Crowley County at McClave (Sat. 7 p.m.)

A couple of playoff teams from last year will try to get their seasons started off with a notable win. Crowley County won last year’s showdown and gets quarterback Blevyns Brown back for 2023. The Cardinals will look to Gavin Tempel to replace some of the offense that was lost with the departure of last year’s seniors.

Watch: Crowley County at McClave

**

6-man

Cheyenne Wells at Stratton (Sat. 2 p.m.)

A rematch from Week 1 of last year and the 2021 6-man title game. Stratton was the most dominant team in any classification a year ago and is looking to repeat that performance this year. Cyler Notter is back and will likely take over as the primary ball carrier for the Eagles. Perry Chadwick looks to move into a more prominent role in the Cheyenne Wells offense.
