The September issue of the Colorado Preps Magazine is now available online. The cover story involves a look back to when volleyball was sanctioned in 1975 and Neil Devlin interviews some coaches from the early power programs.
On the football side, we look at how some schools in rural areas battle to keep their programs alive and the rebirth of the Denver Christian football team after five years on the sideline. With Dalton Risner of the Broncos earning plenty of publicity for the city of Wiggins, we also celebrate the 20th anniversary of their football championship in 1999.
Other stories involve the San Juan volleyball chase, the Broomfield softball team and the Fossil Ridge golf team trying to win back-to-back titles in Class 5A.
