Only two programs in Class 5A have weathered the storm of remaining unbeaten through the first month of the season.
Very soon – after Wednesday, in fact – there will be only one.

Business in League 4 is about to pick up with top-ranked Cherry Creek (8-0, 5-0) visiting No. 3 Arapahoe (7-0, 1-0) on Wednesday night at Littleton Public Schools Stadium. With only a few short weeks remaining in the regular season, this contest will go a long way toward potentially crowning a league champion, as well as a top seed in the postseason.

The Bruins opened league play last Friday with an 11-1 rout of Denver South. Arapahoe did the same, taking care of Kent Denver 11-2 behind four goals and an assist from Brody Nelson.

Denver East and Colorado Academy also hope to have something to say about competing for the league title. The Angels (5-2, 1-0) bounced back from a loss to No. 2 Valor Christian by downing Grandview and Chatfield, getting three goals and three assists from Alex Cohen in the victory over the Chargers. Colorado Academy (5-2, 1-0) bounced back from a loss to Regis Jesuit by rolling past Cherokee Trail 11-5, thanks to goals from eight players.
