New RPI standings have been released for volleyball teams in Colorado and this update focuses on teams in Classes 1A and 2A.  We alter the report in 2A a bit as we’ll begin the weekly process of providing sample regional tournament brackets based on RPI standings.

CLASS 2A

Doing something a bit different in Class 2A this week as instead of just listing the standings for RPI we use them to place teams in the newly formatted regional tournament.  The post-season format in the division this year calls for the elimination of district tournaments with the top 36 teams according to RPI placed in the regional bracket.
The top 12 teams would host three-team events with the champion from each advancing to the state tournament.  And in contrast to the past few years, there will be NO at large berths to the state tournament.
We provide a true seeding below based on RPI standings from September 23rd.  A few teams toward the bottom of the top 36 could be moved for geographical purposes.
