The six-man division a year ago was dominated by a very talented senior class and as a result only two all-state players from 2016 are back in uniform this season and both are second team members.  The large amount of talent lost to graduation likely leaves the division wide open entering the season openers later this month.
Below is a quick list and breakdown of the players in six man football that return after being named either first or second team all-state in 2016.

SECOND TEAM

Bryson Long — Peetz

  • Completed 14 of 20 passes for 627 yards and 9 touchdowns
  • Was second on the team with 894 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns
  • Caught 11 passes for 66 yards and a score
  • Registered 75 tackles and 7 fumble recoveries defensively

Caid Smith — Genoa Hugo

  • Led team with 665 yards on only 53 carries as a junior
  • Was second on team with 18 receptions and led Pirates with 467 yards receiving
  • Scored 19 touchdowns
  • Topped defense with 106 tackles in just seven games
