Quite a bit of shuffling in the latest football rankings from CHSAA as two pre-season number one teams take major tumbles with the biggest drop in six-man.  That’s where defending state champion Flagler dropped completely out of the rankings following a lopsided loss to Cheyenne Wells.  The Tigers are the new number one team there.
In Class 3A, three-time champion Pueblo East fell four spots to number five after a 31-6 setback to Longmont.  The Trojans bumped up five positions to take over number one billing in that division this week.
Elsewhere, Fleming fell from second to eighth in six-man and Akron tumbled seven spots in ninth in the eight man ranks.  In Class 4A, Broomfield lost five positions down to seventh after a loss to Legacy and in Class 5A, Cherry Creek fell to seventh with their loss to Regis.
Newcomers are plenty including three apiece in Class 1A and six-man.  In Class 1A, Centauri jumps in at number five along with Monte Vista (8th) and Grand Valley (10th).  Otis moves in at number five in six-man with North Park (7th) and La Veta (10th) also getting in this week.  Other newcomers include Doherty, Pueblo South, Rampart, Erie, Durango, Alamosa, Eaton and Holly.
