The 2023-24 high school athletic season is officially on the tee box. Monday marks the start of the year as boys golf practice gets underway across the state.

Coaches and players have three exclusive days of tryouts and qualification before competition gets underway on Thursday.

Boys golf is traditionally the first sport to begin both play and competition in Colorado. Among the first tournaments that will be played this week are the Class 3A Metro League tournament at Aurora hosted by Kent Denver and the Class 4A NCAC tournament at Broadlands hosted by Holy Family.

According to iWanamaker, a full slate of tournament play is set for next week, beginning a regular dose of high school sports competition that will last until next June.
