The soccer program at Boulder High School hasn’t given up a goal since the first day of October. Perhaps even more impressive, it has outscored teams 17-nil through three rounds of the Class 5A postseason.

Now comes the Panthers’ stiffest test since — well, the last time they met up with Broomfield, their semifinal opponent which delivered the lone draw to their 17-0-1 record this fall.

The semifinals will be played across all of the state’s classifications on Wednesday. Below is a preview of each class.

Class 5A – at CIBER Field at the University of Denver

No. 1 Northfield vs. No. 4 Cherry Creek, 5 p.m.

No. 2 Boulder vs. No. 3 Broomfield, 7:30 p.m.

The 5A boys soccer tournament bracket

Nobody has looked more dominant in these playoffs than the MaxPreps No. 23 Panthers (17-0-1), who delivered their ninth straight shutout in a 7-0 win over Fort Collins in the quarterfinals.

Led by 5A-points leader Xander Sevian, the Clemson commit with 23 goals and 26 assists, Boulder faces Broomfield (15-2-1), the team it tied 1-all against on Sept. 19.

In the Eagles’ 2-1 win over Regis Jesuit in the quarterfinals, Arshia Khodaee scored the winner in 66th minute.

Northfield (16-0-2), meanwhile, faces Cherry Creek (16-1-1) for the first time in program history. Isaias Bonilla leads the Nighthawks with 12 goals and four assists. Cole Wearner has 18 goals and 10 assists for the Bruins.

Class 4A – Jeffco Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood

No. 1 Mullen v. No. 5 Silver Creek, 5 p.m.

No. 2 Battle Mountain v. No. 3 Air Academy, 7:30 p.m.

The 4A boys soccer tournament bracket

Defending champ Battle Mountain (13-4-1) beat No. 10 Regis Groff 6-5 in a quarterfinals shootout after the teams were tied 2-2 after two overtimes.

The Huskies get Air Academy (14-1-2), which got past No. 11 Evergreen in its quarterfinal, 1-0, thanks to the eighth goal of the season from Noah Kostanian Urvik.

In the other quarterfinals, Silver Creek (12-2-3) beat No. 4 Centaurus, 2-1, on the second straight postseason winner from sophomore Parker Brown. Mullen (14-2-2) won 2-1 over No. 9 Durango, getting goals from Jackson Kaunda and Lucas Carreira.

Class 3A – Jeffco Northern Area Athletic Complex

No. 1 Holy Family v. No. 5 Roaring Fork, 5 p.m.

No. 2 Jefferson Academy v. No. 3 Peak to Peak, 7:30 p.m.

The 3A boys soccer tournament bracket

Jefferson Academy (14-3-1) went winless in 2023, finishing 0-10-6.

But, like that — after longtime coach Matt Cassell returned from a one-year hiatus from the program — the Jaguars are just two wins away from their first state title in program history.

JA beat No. 7 Woodland Park 5-0 in the quarterfinals, giving it eight straight wins since falling to Peak to Peak (11-2-4), 1-0, on Oct. 3. Micah Thengvall scored the winner in that game and has 14 goals this season for the Pumas.

Holy Family (14-2-2) got its third straight shutout of the postseason, beating No. 8 Kent Denver 3-0 in the quarters.

Roaring Fork upset No. 4 Rifle, 3-2, with Delano Crooks scoring twice, giving him 11 goals on the year.

Class 2A – University of Northern Colorado

No. 2 Forge Christian vs. No. 3 Crested Butte, 5 p.m.

No. 1 Denver Christian vs. No. 4 Salida, 7:30 p.m.

The 2A boys soccer tournament bracket

Denver Christian (12-1-4) and Forge Christian (12-2-3) come out of the 3A/2A Metro League, which also has two teams — Jefferson Academy and Peak to Peak — still alive in the 3A playoffs.

The Thunder beat the Fury, 3-2, in their meeting on Oct. 3. Five different players scored in the game, including the Thunder’s Brady Kindig, who has 27 goals this season.

Eyes are on defending champ Crested Butte (14-1-2), though, as the Titans have won four state titles since the sport added 2A six years ago.

The Titans handed Salida (13-1-3) their only loss of the season on Sept. 9, 2-0. Shawn Moran scored in it and has 20 goals on the year.
